NOTES:

  • Generally, students should expect to enroll in six semester hours to receive federal financial aid.
  • Pell awards are based on enrollment and EFC. All awards show full time Pell. Three quarter time enrollment (9-11 semester hours) is 75% of the full time amount and half time enrollment (6-8 semester hours) is 50% of the full time amount.
  • To calculate your 2009-2010 Pell amount use the 2009-2010 Pell chart. Find your EFC on the chart.Use the column corresponding to your enrollment. Pell amounts listed are for the full year with per semester amounts listed in parentheses. Be sure to use the correct amount for your enrollment. Students planning to enroll less than six hours should contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance to determine Pell amounts.
  • Average Loan Fees are an additional $65 per each budget
  • Financial aid awards are based on an average for tuition and fees. Visit the Admissions web page for Actual Cost of Attendance.
  • If you require an adjustment to your award based on additional aid resources, a change in state residency or a change in degree program, you must notify the Financial Aid Office via the "Comments" on your MyState award or by emailing us at Ask a Counselor.
  • To determine the amount of your award, the following process was used:
    • Institutional Budget (The reasonable costs a student might pay as a result of pursuing an education)
    • minus: Expected Family Contribution (As determined by the US Dept of Education)
    • minus: Additional Funds or Outside Resources
    • equals: Unmet Need (The amount on which need based awards are normally based)

UNMET NEED:

If there is no unmet need remaining after the EFC and other sources of aid are subtracted, the institutional budget may be met through a Federal Stafford Unsubsidized Loan or a  Federal Stafford Parent Loan. In no case may the award exceed the Institutional Budget.
