Checking for Missing Documents on MyState

In order to access MyState you must be admitted to WVSU or KVCTC. You will need your student ID number to log in. Your student ID begins with an "A". You must use a capital letter A. The username is case sensitive. Your password is your six digit date of birth. If you experience difficulty logging in, please click here for help.

When you enter the secure area:

1) Click on Student and Financial Aid

2) Click on Financial Aid

3) Click on Eligibility

4) Click on Student Requirements, choose an aid year from the drop down box, and click submit

5) If all requirements are listed under the “Satisfied” heading, your file is complete .*

  *Remember that you may still need to do a student loan promissory note to receive your loan funds.   You will receive a letter and email notification from Sallie Mae when it is time to do a promissory note.

6) If you have items in the “Unsatisfied” heading, you will need to read the status codes to determine if you need to turn in additional paperwork.

a) Item Needed= it has not been turned in

b) Item Received-Incomplete= It has been turned in but, is missing something. You still need to turn in the complete item as requested.*

*Typically this refers to 1040 forms missing signatures or faxed documents that are illegible or missing pages.

c) Item Received-Needs Review= The Office of Student Financial Assistance received the item and your file will be processed once all items have this status code.

d) Transmitted=The item has been processed and sent to another area for final processing.*

* Typically this refers to Appeals sent to the Financial Aid Appeal Committee or Corrections to your Student Aid Report electronically transmitted to  the U.S. Department of Education Central Processor for correction processing.
