Accepting Your Award on MyState

In order to access MyState you must be admitted to WVSU or KVCTC. You will need your student ID number to log in. Your student ID begins with an "A". You must use a capital letter A. The username is case sensitive. Your password is your six digit date of birth. If you experience difficulty logging in, please click here for help.

When you enter the secure area:

1) Click "Student & Financial Aid"

2) Click "Financial Aid"

3) Click "Award"

4) Click the "Award for Aid Year" and choose the aid year from the drop down box and click submit

5) Click the tab "Accept Award Offer"

6) Accept or Decline all funds that are in "offered" status *

7) When you have accepted/declined ALL funds click "Submit" **

8) Your award will be automatically accepted and your registration held if you accept/decline ALL offered funds and click "Submit Decision".

9) Failure to accept or decline all funds will cause your award to partially submit and your registration may not be held. Do not use the "undecided" option. This will also cause a submission failure on your award.

10) You MUST click the "Submit Decision" button or your award acceptance will not submit and your registration may be dropped.

* Some funds are automatically accepted and do not give the option to accept or decline. Funds such as scholarships may be automatically accepted. You do not need to try to accept these funds. They are accepted for you.

** You may choose to accept less than the offered amount of a fund, particularly on student loans.

If you need to contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance to request child care expenses, decline a semester of aid, add summer aid, add an aid resource not listed on your award, accept previously declined awards, or request other changes to your award, please use the message portion of your award on MyState or use Ask a Counselor.
